Conclusion: The ultraviolet B rays of wavelength 290-320 nano meters responsible for synthesis of vitamin D in the skin is highest between 11am to 1pm. No increase in the serum vitamin D was observed following sun exposure in winter emphasising the need for vitamin D supplementation during winter months.
